Before a WhatsApp Business Account can message real customers, Meta checks that the business behind it exists. This is called business verification. It is free, it is done once, and with the right document it is usually approved within a day. Dunnflow's own account was approved in under nine hours.
Documents that work
An Udyam registration certificate (the free MSME registration from the Government of India) or a GST registration certificate. Both show the legal name and the address, which is exactly what Meta compares against. Udyam is the easiest: it takes about fifteen minutes online with an Aadhaar number and a PAN, costs nothing, and the certificate is a PDF you download the same day.
The one rule
What you type in Meta must match the certificate letter for letter. The legal name in capitals if the certificate prints it in capitals. The address line by line, with the same PIN code. Most rejections are not about the business, they are about a shortened address or a different spelling. Open the certificate next to the form and copy.
Proving the connection
Meta also wants to know the person submitting is connected to the business. The simplest route is the website: if the business has a domain, a small text record is added to it and Meta checks it. Otherwise a phone call or SMS to the number printed on the certificate works, as long as that number is still in use. Email on the business domain works too.
What happens after
The account changes from restricted to approved, templates can be submitted, the number can message, and the daily sending limit starts growing as customers reply. Dunnflow walks every client through this on the first call and does the form with you on screen, so it is done in one sitting.
